For more than 40 years, corpuls has been developing and manufacturing innovative, high-end medical technology for out-of-hospital and in-hospital cardiac therapy. With over 600 employees, we export defibrillators, monitoring systems and chest compression devices for cardiopulmonary resuscitation in cases of cardiac arrest, as well as digital solutions in the fields of telemedicine and quality management, to more than 70 countries worldwide. Our smart and robust products support rescuers working in emergency medical services, air rescue, patient transport, hospitals, the military and disaster response.

What is now the globally recognised brand “corpuls” began as a bold step into the unknown. In 1982, our company founder Günter Stemple took a leap of faith and developed a novel portable defibrillator in his basement workshop in Kaufering, Upper Bavaria, initially revolutionising the German market. That same spirit continues to drive us today.

Our success story spans more than 40 years: from a hobby shed to a global brand

1982

Foundation

Günter Stemple founds the company GS Elektromedizinische Geräte G. Stemple GmbH in Kaufering. His aim is to revolutionise the German market with an innovative portable defibrillator. The corpuls 200 and corpuls 300 lay the foundations for a success story.

1982

Innovation is of capital importance

The corpuls 200/300 series was ahead of its time. It was the most lightweight product on the market, while still being extremely robust and functional. corpuls 200/300 was specifically targeted towards the preclinical sector and as a pioneer had a reliable power supply and a functional on-board charging system for vehicle installation.

1984

Pioneers of telemedicine

A revolution is playing out on board a merchant ship off the coast of South America. For the first time, a single-channel ECG is being sent around the world to Germany. And at a time when telemedicine was unheard of. The technology: created by corpuls.

1992

Next generation

A new corpuls generation, the 08/16, is launched. Nothing like any of the competitor products, but just as robust as the legendary corpuls 200/300 series. Its fold-down screen and energy management set new standards. corpuls 08/16 was also the first device for the preclinical sector with a 12-channel ECG. The functions SpO2, NIBP, CO2, 2x IBP and TEMP could also be added.

1995

Awarded design

The corpuls 08/16 is now officially a design object, receiving the design price from the Forum Industrie Design Hannover.

2007

Modularity as innovation

The year of separability: the new corpuls3 is presented to the public at the medical technology trade fair MEDICA. The first and only device that can be split up wirelessly into its separate parts: monitor, patient module and defibrillator module. corpuls3 thus sets new standards for decades to come in medical technology for emergency medical services...

2011

Handy and multifunctional

The corpuls3 gets a little brother: the corpuls1. The compact and lightweight defibrillator/patient monitor is specially designed for the requirements of the fire brigade, first responders, patient transport and emergency management.

Modularity made easy

The second generation of the corpuls3 and the new defi module SLIM further simplify work for first responders thanks to their light weight.

Telemetry in Emergency Medicine

What began on board the Humboldt Express in 1984 is taken to a new level with the telemetry solution corpuls.web LIVE. The browser-based application optimises collaboration between the emergency services on the scene and the specialists in the clinic more than ever before.

2015

Compression without compromise

The corpuls cpr founded in 2015 a unique generation of chest compression devices for emergency services and clinics for the fastest possible patient care, even for children eight years old and above.

THE CORPULS AMONG THE AEDS

The corpuls aed is the first compact corpuls defibrillator for first responders on the market. With its clear pictograms and voice prompts, the corpuls aed ensures that even laypeople can carry out high-quality resuscitation with the device.

corpuls3 WITH TOUCH FUNCTION

Our legendary and still unique corpuls3 is now also available as corpuls3T. With the “Touch n’ Dial” concept, touch operation is possible as well as classic operation via the buttons and jog dial. (The touch display is insensitive to liquids and can be operated with disposable gloves.)

PERFECT TEAMWORK

We have had this vision for a long time to take the resuscitation processes to the next level: The corpuls cpr becomes the fourth module of the corpuls3 through synchronization. Both devices become one, they integrate into the team and resuscitation becomes even more efficient thanks to this duo.

TELEMEDICINE TAKES A FURTHER STEP

Everything from a single source, on one medical communication platform: corpuls.mission is a fully-fledged and individually customizable Tele-medic system. Real-time medical data, video chat, data exchange and mission documentation bundled in one place and visible to everyone involved.

22-LEAD REVOLUTION

We have revolutionized the ECG again after bringing the 12-lead ECG to the emergency services more than 20 years ago: 22 leads from just 10 electrodes provide a much more comprehensive picture of the heart muscle, including the rear wall and right side.

corpuls simulation

With corpuls simulation we bring completely realistic scenarios to your training. The result: a team prepared for all scenarios. Hidden in a deceptively realistic looking corpuls3 case is an Apple iPad Pro with which you can simulate the corpuls defibrillators down to the last detail.

Günter Stemple went into well-deserved retirement almost 40 years after founding GS Elektromedizinische Geräte G. Stemple GmbH. Thanks to his son Klaus Stemple, daughter Iris Klimmer and son-in-law Dr. Christian Klimmer, the global company remains in family hands.

NORDIC CAPITAL ON BOARD

Financial investor Nordic Capital becomes the majority owner to support us on our growth path. This does not change the corpuls DNA, but strengthens it: We will continue to push for innovation at the company's location and expand our international presence. We also want to further expand growth in the hospital sector and our telemedicine options.

We are distributing the ever-growing challenges across several shoulders and strengthening our management team with long-standing employees Michael Heller (left) and Marcus Leber (right). TELE-MEDIC MILESTONES

Our Tele-medic system is revolutionizing emergency medicine all over the world. We have also had great successes in Germany: In Bavaria and Saarland, the decision has been made to introduce our system nationwide, and a large Tele-medic project is also being launched in Rhineland-Palatinate.

MDR CERTIFIED

We have received MDR certification for our corpuls3 and corpuls3T devices. As the corpuls cpr chest compression device and the corpuls.mission LIVE telemedicine software had already overcome the stricter MDR hurdles, this means that we now provide a future-proof, MDR-certified telemedicine solution.

RIEDEL & SCHULZ PART OF CORPULS

Our long-standing sales and service partner “Riedel + Schulz Medizintechnik GmbH” is now part of corpuls and will become our subsidiary. We have been working together closely since 1992. The location in Nuthetal in Brandenburg will remain and we have taken on all employees.

INTO THE FUTURE WITH HESTOMED NORD

hestomed nord will become part of corpuls at the start of the year. We are taking on all employees of the long-standing sales and service partner and want to continue to expand the workforce in the future. The location in Stockelsdorf in Schleswig-Holstein will remain.

CHANGE OF LEADERSHIP AT CORPULS

After more than two decades at corpuls, our long-standing CEO, Dr. Christian Klimmer, is handing over to his successor Dr. Christoph Brönnimann, who brings extensive experience from management positions in international medical technology. Mr Klimmer will remain with the company in an advisory capacity during the transition phase.

The best possible quality, service life and robustness, geared towards the specific conditions of emergency calls – this has always been our standard for our defibrillators, patient monitoring systems, chest compression devices and software solutions.

Even in the development phase, we already have tomorrow in mind as we make our devices compatible with future software and hardware updates. As a result, corpuls products remain at the cutting edge of technology even decades later, and are certified accordingly.

THE MOUNTING – LET’S PLAY IT SAFE!

The safety of the patient and of the staff in the rescue vehicle during transport takes top priority. Almost all corpuls devices comply with the European DIN EN 1789
(Medical vehicles and their equipment - Road ambulances),
parts of the RTCA DO 160 (Environmental Conditions and Test Procedures for Airborne Equipment) and the MIL-STD 810 (US technical military standard that specifies the environmental test conditions for military equipment).
