The corpuls new build begins

The medical technology company GS Elektromedizinische Geräte G. Stemple GmbH (also known under the brand name “corpuls”) is taking an important step towards the future with its new build in Igling, Bavaria. The symbolic groundbreaking ceremony for the future-focused project, with which the company is laying the foundation for further growth, has taken place on the site measuring almost 30,000 m². The first employees are expected to move in here at the end of next year.

The company’s future location is just three kilometres as the crow flies from the current headquarters, which was built 37 years ago. Meaning GS is staying true to its Bavarian home, even as the company continues to branch out further into the world. “The signs are pointing towards expansion more than ever,” says CTO Klaus Stemple. “Recently, we have been adding around 40 new employees each year and we want to be able to continue to grow in the future.” GS currently has around 500 employees. The current headquarters in Kaufering is now bursting at the seams, with several employees working from other locations and in rented spaces. “We have squeezed in as much as is possible. Without some employees working from home, we would have reached our spatial limits much sooner,” says Stemple.

“Lots of potential for further growth”
“Production, warehousing, logistics and customer service will be the first to relocate to Igling – with lots of potential for further growth,” says COO Marcus Leber. “We will have basically twice as much space as we have now.” Two buildings and a large connecting tunnel are initially planned for the first departments. In the new spaces, the customer service team will take care of the needs of customers from all over the world. GS will also set up a technical training centre there, where employees and international sales partners, as well as customers, can receive further training. The new building will also house a high-bay warehouse, an order picking area and a production hall with office units. After this first step, further buildings will follow for management and development, among other departments.

The new build is conveniently located in an industrial park in Igling, directly on the B17 road. A continuous 2.7 kilometre cycle path leads to the Kaufering railway station. The company is investing 22 million euros in the first step of this project and is using a regional property developer, regional trades people and a sustainable and future-proof heat network system from a regional provider.
