corpuls auryx, the in-ear sensor for mobile vital-sign monitoring, is now classified as a Class IIb medical device and available on the market. It meets all necessary regulatory requirements and provides reliable and effective vital-sign monitoring – even in the most challenging situations.

The compact sensors make it considerably easier to ensure reliable monitoring under extreme operating conditions, even for larger numbers of patients. Kuhn emphasised: “This corpuls innovation adds an important component to our product portfolio and marks a milestone in mobile patient monitoring – because it provides an answer to many of the challenges increasingly faced by emergency responders.”


Continuous monitoring without gaps in care
Dr Johannes Kreuzer invented corpuls auryx together with his development team to make the work of emergency responders easier while also ensuring better patient care: “We want to eliminate the blind spots in patient monitoring – in demanding, hard-to-access environments just as much as in the emergency department, where resources and time are scarce; during patient transport, in mobile, integrated healthcare, or in dynamic, chaotic mission situations where conventional monitoring reaches its limits – for example, in mass casualty incidents or tactical medicine.”


Integration into the corpuls portfolio
Weighing 8.6 grams, the sensor continuously generates streams of data on key vital-signs, such as body temperature, pulse rate and oxygen saturation, from its measuring position in the ear. These are transmitted via Bluetooth to the corpuls auryx app, a standalone software solution, and can be displayed on iOS and Android smartphones and tablets.


By connecting corpuls auryx to the corpuls.mission medical communication platform, all information is transmitted live. All emergency personnel, telemedicine physicians and specialists involved can view it via the software and discuss it using audio/video calls. In the near future, emergency responders will also be able to pair the corpuls auryx sensor with the corpuls3.
